Brunei records 392 new cases

Brunei Darussalam yesterday recorded 392 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the national tally of confirmed cases to 152,712. Of this, 388 cases were detected through ART screening, and four of the 191 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed over the past 24 hours returned positive.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar announced at the daily press conference yesterday that one case is in Category 4, receiving respiratory assistance and under close observation.

A total of 454 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 149,697. Meanwhile, 2,790 active cases remain, 16 of whom are receiving treatment at hospitals, while the remainder are undergoing home self-isolation.

On Friday, 45 first doses and 211 second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered to children aged five to 11. This brings the total number of first dose vaccinations administered to 83.3 per cent, and second dose vaccinations to 65.5 per cent. A total of 71.6 per cent of the populace have received the booster shot.
