Brunei Darussalam detected 141 new cases, 122 of which were from antigen rapid tests (ART) while 19 from 767 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours.
The tally of cases reported in the Sultanate to date is 141,014.
No COVID-19 fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours.
The updates were shared by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during the daily press conference yesterday.
“There are two Category 5 patients requiring treatment at the intensive care unit,” said Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham.
The minister shared that 201 cases have recovered, bringing the number of recoveries to 139,724. Meanwhile, the number of active cases stands at 1,072 cases, with 23 cases being treated at hospitals, and 1,095 undergoing home self-isolation.
“Friday saw 175 children aged five to 11 receive the COVID-19 vaccine, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 14,816 or 34.5 per cent of children in the age group,” he said.
The minister added that, 63.8 per cent of the populace have received three doses of the vaccine.
Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong and Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman were also present.
