DAYANGKU Nurul Sakinah Adawiyah binti Pengiran Ainolazahar did Brunei proud by winning a gold award at Malaysia’s Al-Quran reading competition for schools of the Ministry of Education.
She shared the gold award with two participants from Malaysia and two from Thailand. The competition was held for the 45th time at Tuanku Syed Surajuddin Polytechnic in Pauh Putera, Perlis.
Dayangku Nurul Sakinah Adawiyah participated in the international category and received a cash prize, trophy and certificates.
The consort of Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra ibni Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail, Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah binti Datuk Khalil presented the prizes.
Dayangku Nurul Sakinah Adawiyah was welcomed on arrival at the Brunei International Airport on Tuesday night by Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Hardifadhillah bin Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Director of Islamic Studies Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar and other senior officers at the ministry.
Dayangku Nurul Sakinah Adawiyah was accompanied by Manager and Coach Siti Huzaimah Yadey binti Haji Rosli. Religious Education Officer at the Islamic Studies Pengiran Mohd Aminuddin bin Pengiran Haji Hussin recited Doa Selamat and Doa Kesyukuran.
Three categories were competed at the competition namely primary, secondary and international. The platinum award was grabbed by an Indonesian participant.
