The population of Brunei Darussalam in 2022 was 445,400 people, an increase of 1.1 per cent compared to 2021 (440,715 persons), according to the Reports of the Population Estimates 2022 released by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES).
The reports present the data of population estimates and key demographic characteristics of the Sultanate’s population in 2022.
The population in 2022 comprised 235,000 males (52.8 per cent) and 210,400 females (47.2 per cent), while the sex ratio was 111.7 males for every 100 females, according to the report.
