Brunei Philippine community celebrates Independence Day

THE Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam hosted a flag-hoisting ceremony to mark the 120th Philippine Independence Day yesterday.

Chargé d’Affaires of the Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam Pete Raymond V Delfin led the ceremony along with members of the Filipino community. Around 200 members of the Filipino community attended the event.

Defense and Armed Forces Attaché (DAFA) Colonel Jose Ricky A Laniog and ODAFA Administrative Assistant Master Sargeant Romelito A Galeos assisted Delfin in hoisting the Philippine flag.

Delfin, Vice Consul Jaybee B Arguillas, Defense Attaché Colonel Laniog, and Labor Attaché Melissa C Mendizabal read the Independence Day messages of Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter S Cayetano, Defense Secretary Delfin N Lorenzana, and Labor Secretary Silvestre H Bello III.
