The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) observed the International Anti-Corruption Day to commemorate the country’s commitment to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC).

Brunei Darussalam signed the UNCAC on October 11, 2003 and ratified the Convention on December 2, 2008.

The International Anti-Corruption Day is marked to create awareness on the dangers of corruption and the roles of the Convention in fighting against corruption.

The ACB observed the event yesterday morning by organising a recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam, Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman and Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.

It was attended by senior officers, officers and staffs of the ACB.

The ACB also organised an Anti-Corruption Poster Drawing Competition opened to the public where its prize presentation will be held at its headquarters on December 12.
