Brunei-Muara village head selections in full swing

Syarikat Amanah Haji Abdullah Shell Station manager Haji Mohammad Ameerolbahyree bin Haji Abdul Hamid, 36, received 195 votes, making up 55.40 per cent of the total Kampong Kilanas villagers who cast their votes to elect the new village head at Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School yesterday.

Meanwhile, retired Army Officer Abdul Rahman bin Haji Pudin, 50, a resident of Kampong Kilanas since 1970, received 156 votes, making up 44.32 per cent of the total votes.

Brunei-Muara District Officer Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim attended the event to witness the vote count.

Also in attendance were senior officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), the acting penghulu, village heads and acting village heads from the Brunei-Muara District.

The votes were conducted using ballot papers and the PMKK e-Vote mobile app.

The results of the event will be presented to the Board of Appointment, Discipline and Procedures for Mukim Penghulu and Village Head at the MoHA for the next step in the selection process.

The Brunei-Muara District Office will continue the elections for new village heads.

The voting for a village head of Kampong Menunggol in Mukim Kota Batu will take place on June 12 from 8am to 11am at Nakhoda Abdul Rashid Primary School in Kampong Menunggol, Mukim Kota Batu.

Meanwhile, the voting for a village head in Kampong Jaya Setia, Kampong Jaya Bakti and Kampong Burong Pingai Berakas, Mukim Berakas ‘A’ will take place on June 19 from 8am to 11am at Amar Pahlawan Primary School.
