Brunei, Malaysian ministers hail defence, military ties

Malaysia’s Minister of Defence Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin called on Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof yesterday.

During the call, both parties expressed satisfaction with the robust and growing level of defence and military relations between the two countries.

They also acknowledged the importance of continuing the cooperation, and in addition to discussing regional and global peace and security.

Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi greeted Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled on arrival at the Ministry of Defence (MinDef).

The Malaysian minister received a general salute and inspected the guard of honour comprising Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) personnel.

Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled’s official visit to Brunei Darussalam marks the first visit since he was appointed as the Minister of Defence of Malaysia in December 2023. – Adib Noor
