A DELEGATION of 11 Brunei History Association (PESEBAR) members left for Mukah, Sarawak for a three-day visit and research activities on historical sites in the district where they will be in Mukah until January 12.
The visit served to do historical research on the relations between Brunei and Mukah based on the historical trace found in the district, while at the same time exchange views through discussions with history experts and senior citizens who possess knowledge, experience and scenario on the Brunei-Mukah history.
Honorary Secretary Professor Dr Haji Hasbol bin Haji Main and Assistant Honorary Secretary Dr Md Hadi bin Md Melayong led the visiting delegation.
The visit is hoped to establish cooperation ties in the field of historical research and study in line with PESEBAR’s establishment objectives.
While in Mukah, they will be hosted by the Amanah Akhirat Yayasan Melayu Sarawak and attend a get-together with the older generation in Mukah to learn more about the historical information of the Brunei-Mukah ties during the Brooke dynasty that began in Kuching during the 18th Century.
