Brunei gears up for first international kite event

A REHEARSAL for the first Brunei Darussalam International Kite Festival 2019 was held at the Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas in Bandar Seri Begawan yesterday.

The festival will be held tomorrow.

Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin were present.

Organised in conjunction with the 35th National Day Celebration by the Brunei Darussalam Kite Association (PEKIKIK) chaired by its President Haji Maidin bin Haji Ahmad.

A total of 34 countries will be participating in the festival.

The festival will also display a kite exhibition as well as food and drink stalls.
