Brunei concerned over escalation of tension

Brunei Darussalam expressed concern over the escalation of tensions and military actions in Ukraine, and said it condemns any violation of sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of any country, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) uploaded on its website recently.

While continuing to closely monitor developments in the country, Brunei reiterated the importance of upholding the principles of a rule-based framework and respect for
international law.

In this respect, the statement said “Brunei Darussalam calls on all parties directly involved to de-escalate tensions and refrain from acts that may aggravate the situation further, and settle all differences by peaceful means, without resorting to the threat or use of force, in accordance with the United Nations (UN) Charter and international law, in the interest of maintaining international peace and stability”.
