The Ministry of Education through the Department of Examinations has issued the Brunei Cambridge GCE ‘AS’ and ‘A’ Level October / November 2019 Results recently.
A total of 1,706 candidates sat for the Brunei-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level Examination where the overall achievement of at least three ‘A’ candidates is 1,204 candidates or 70.5 per cent which is an increase of 0.46 per cent. Meanwhile, the percentage of candidates receiving at least two ‘A’ levels is 85.70 per cent, a decrease of 0.29 per cent and the percentage of candidates receiving one ‘A’ level is 94.26 per cent, an increase of 0.39 in comparison to 2018 Examinations results.
Overall nine subjects have shown an increase between 0.09 per cent and 13.42 per cent. The subjects are Usuluddin, Bahasa Melayu, Travel and Tourism, Computer Science, Geography, Sociology, Biology, Chemistry and Art and Design. Meanwhile three subjects have remained the same from last year at 100 per cent, which are Hafaz Al-Quran, Further Mathematics and Physical Education.
For Brunei-Cambridge GCE ‘AS’ Level Examination, out of 1,027 candidates who sat for the examination, 648 candidates obtained at least two ‘AS’ levels, which is 63.1 per cent and a decrease of 0.70 per cent.
Meanwhile, 942 or 91.72 per cent achieved at least one ‘AS’ level, a decrease of 2.44 per cent from October/November 2018 results.Overall, 74 candidates achieved ‘A’ in at least two subjects.
Students who sat for the examinations in October/November 2019 may obtain their result slips from their schools while private candidates may get them from the Examinations Department, Ministry of Education during office hours.
Candidates who wish to improve their results may register for the Brunei-Cambridge ‘AS’ and ‘A’ Level examinations for the May/June 2020 session is still open and closing date for private candidates’ registration is on February 15.
