The Ministry of Education (MoE) through the Department of Examination has issued the Brunei Cambridge G.C.E. ‘AS’ and ‘A’ Level October/ November 2019 Results today, it said in a press release.
For the Brunei-Cambridge G.C.E. ‘A’ Level Examination, out of 1706 candidates who sat for the examination, the overall achievement of at least three (3) ‘A’ candidates is 1204 candidates or 70.5%, an increase of 0.46%. Meanwhile, the percentage of candidates receiving at least two (2) ‘A’ levels is 85.70%, a decrease of 0.29% and the percentage of candidates receiving one (1) ‘A’ level is 94.26%, an increase of 0.39% in comparison to 2018 Examinations Results.
Meanwhile at the school level, candidates with at least three (3) ‘A’ is 75.14%, a decrease of 0.41%. Whereas, the percentage of candidates with at least two (2) ‘A’ levels is 90.67% and the percentage of candidates with one (1) ‘A’ level is 97.24% which is an increase of 0.09%.
Overall, 167 candidates or 9.79% candidates attained ‘A’ grades in 2 to 4 subjects. A total of 21 students attained Grade A* / A in 4 subjects, a total of 67 candidates attained Grade A* / A in 3 subjects and 79 candidates obtained A* / A in 2 subjects.
Overall 9 subjects have shown an increase between 0.09% and 13.42%. The subjects are Usuluddin, Bahasa Melayu, Travel and Tourism, Computer Science, Geography, Sociology, Biology, Chemistry and Art and Design.
Meanwhile 3 subjects have remained the same from last year at 100%, which are Hafaz Al-Quran, Further Mathematics and Physical Education.
For the Brunei-Cambridge G.C.E. ‘AS’ Level Examination, out of 1,027 candidates who have sat for the examination, 648 candidates obtained at least two (2) ‘AS’ levels, which is 63.10% and a decrease of 0.70%. Meanwhile, 942 or 91.72% achieved at least one (1) ‘AS’ level, a decrease of 2.44% from October/November 2018 results. Overall, 74 candidates achieved ‘A’ in at least two subjects.
Students who have sat for the examinations in October/November 2019 may obtain their result slips from their respective schools while private candidates may do so from the Examinations Department, Ministry of Education during office hours.
Candidates who wish to improve their results may register for the Brunei-Cambridge ‘AS’ and ‘A’ Level examinations for the May/June 2020 session is still open and closing date for private candidates’ registration is on Thursday, 15 February 2020.
Candidates are advised to follow registration deadline and school candidates should refer to their teachers at their respective schools.
