Brunei blue shrimp to enter Chinese market soon

PURE Fresh International Holdings Ltd, a Chinese company, entered Brunei as an foreign direct investment (FDI) to set up a processing plant in cooperation with Brunei’s Ghanim International Corporation.

Pure Fresh is an international registered company in Hong Kong with its domestic cold chain storage base in Foshan, Guangdong. Pure Fresh provides domestic consumers with seafood from Brunei and other countries. Unlike other seafood suppliers, Pure Fresh applies ultra-low temperature freezing technology of -60 degrees Celsius to ensure the quality and freshness. As early as April 2017, Pure Fresh’s Southeast Asian Aquatic Products Processing Centre was established near Muara Port.

The processing centre, in operation since April 2018, is in two phases. The first phase covers an area of around 1,200 metres square with a total investment of more than USD10 million, hiring about 100 staff. The centre mainly processes organic blue shrimps for the Guangdong market. The first batch of the ultra-low temperature reefer container is being shipped from Guotong Bonded Logistics Centre in Foshan and is expected to arrive Brunei by end of the month. This will allow and facilitate millions of Chinese households to enjoy high-quality seafood from Brunei.

After more than a year of operation, Pure Fresh had some achievements. Consumers can start to order blue shrimp from Pure Fresh online platform and other seafood from Brunei soon. As the two countries open more direct flights, Pure Fresh will ship more seafood via air shipments through Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) allowing more consumers in China to enjoy the benefit of the Belt and Road Initiative and Brunei-China cooperation.
