For road safety reasons, the convoy was divided into three groups where President of Veteran MC Muadz bin Haji Abdul Hamid led the first group of 35 bikers. Vice President of Veteran MC Barahan bin Haji Lamit led the second group of 35 bikers.
President of Kinsmen MG Pengiran Khairil Sapyri bin Pengiran Haji Hassan led the last group of riders. The convoy took the route of Hassanal Bolkiah Highway, Muara-Tutong Highway, Lambak Berakas Highway and Jalan Subok before exiting through Jalan Kianggeh to The Capital Residence Suites (TCRS) at Kampung Berangan at the city centre.
The convoys were greeted by General Manager of TCRS Elhan Wan Hassan and the staff of TCRS. A group photo was taken and the group made the numbers 35.
The bikers then exchanged mementos and enjoyed hi-tea provided by TCRS. A lucky draw with prizes sponsored by Kinsmen MG and TCRS was held.
Pengiran Khairil Sapyri told the Bulletin that the event’s aim was to gather bikers from the whole of Brunei and instil the spirit of patriotism, as well as enhance relations between biker community members.
“Alhamdulillah, although the weather was gloomy before the start of the event, the bikers still showed up to show their patriotic spirit. We thank everyone who supported this event.
“129 motorcycles paraded around Bandar Seri Begawan with the national flag attached. We divided the convoy into groups of 35 bikers, rode around 35 kilometres in approximately 35 minutes,” the club president added.
Elhan Wan Hassan said, “I hope that the patriotic ride will be a yearly event and will incorporate community services.
“I support their cause and welcome the clubs to organise more events here at The Capital Residence Suites,” the general manager added.
