A MEMORANDUM of Understanding (MoU) between Brunei Darussalam’s Dimension Strata Sdn Bhd and Bangladesh’s Green Power Ltd was held at the Bangladeshi High Commission in Brunei Darussalam in Jalan Sungai Akar, for joint collaboration in exploring investment and business opportunities yesterday.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Bangladesh High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Air Vice Marshal (Rtd) Mahmud Hussain.
Managing Director Mohammad Reduan bin Haji Mohd Yusof and Director Liydia binti Abdul Latif signed on behalf of Dimension Strata Sdn Bhd, while, Managing Director Shaikh Ehsanul Habib and Advisor Ekramul Aziz signed on behalf of Green Power Ltd Bangladesh.
According to Mohammad Reduan, the signing of the MoU will enable the two companies to explore business opportunities in Brunei and Bangladesh.
“We highlighted several sectors in the MoU including the study of business opportunities where municipal waste can be converted into green energy. We know of several existing technologies worldwide and this is one of the areas that we are going to embark upon.
“Another sector that we will be looking into is the profession of technical training in oil and gas and energy sectors. Dimension Strata Sdn Bhd together with our partner from Europe have the availability to provide technical training…so that when people venture from Bangladesh to work in general labour, they will also work as skilled labourers, especially in the oil and gas sector.”
Air Vice Marshal (Rtd) Mahmud Hussain said, “This is the first time that two companies from Brunei and Bangladesh have signed an MoU, and I hope that both companies can work together in the process.
“Bangladesh is advancing fast and it needs energy, and we could provide workforce, especially in the realisation of Brunei Vision 2035 that really needs manpower.”
