BruHealth to update close contact definition

The BruHealth App will take time to update to the new close contact definition of two days instead of 14 days, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at a press conference yesterday.

There is no ‘two-day’ option of being in close contact with a positive patient.

In the meantime, the minister asked the public to select the 14 days option in reference to the period of being in close contact with a positive patient when completing the self-assessment tool on their BruHealth App.

“The admins will recognise the selection as two days instead of 14 days,” he added.

The minister said the Ministry of Health recently re-defined ‘close contact’ with a positive case in the context of the third wave of the COVID-19 outbreak in the Sultanate.

“It only takes two days for a person to be infected due to the shorter incubation period of the Omicron variant,” said the minister.
