I would like to applaud the authorities for a job well done. Since the return of local transmissions last August, the populace had been scrambling to make sense of the new outbreak as well as adapting to new measures to curb the spread, such as wearing face masks in public spaces and completing the vaccination protocol.
Kudos to the authorities on the vaccination programme. It has been a year since the launch of the initiative and over 90 per cent of the populace are now double-dosed. I’m hopeful that we will be able to focus solely on recovery soon.
I believe one thing that has eased the pandemic fight is the BruHealth app. It allows authorities to carry out contact tracing immediately following the detection of an infected individual.
Now that we are in the Early Endemic Phase, the app has morphed into a health pass to get us into commercial premises. As such, it is important that our vaccination status is current.
However, quite a number of accounts have yet been updated, thus showing that they are partially vaccinated though they have taken both doses. As a result, they have no choice but to carry their vaccination cards around to ensure that they have proof of immunisation.
I hope the authorities could look into the matter as it affects the quality of life of these individuals.
