Bringing smiles to special people

The Coffee Bean Brunei donated BND4,000 to the Brunei’s Council for the Welfare of Persons with Different Abilities (MKOKU) at its One City Outlet yesterday.

The donation was collected from the ‘Coffee For A Cause’ campaign proceeds and public contribution between March 29 and May 23.

PAR Food and Beverage Sdn Bhd President Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Abdul Mun’im bin Pengiran Anak Haji Tahiruddin presented the donation to MKOKU Vice President Haji Sahari bin Haji Tinggal.

Representatives from the nine non-governmental organisations (NGOs) – Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam; Society for the Management of Autism Related Issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER); Brunei Darussalam National Association of The Blind (BDNAB); Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA); National Association for the Hearing Impaired (OKP); Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam (SOBD); Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Association (PAPDA); Down Syndrome Association (ABLE) and Learning Ladders Society (LLS) – were also present.

The Coffee Bean Brunei General Manager Art Terrado in a speech highlighted the importance of understanding and supporting the needs of local NGO’s and The Coffee Bean’s commitment to strengthen their relationship with MKOKU.

“We hope that this partnership will be the start of many more collaborations. The Coffee Bean Brunei also introduced new donation boxes across The Coffee Bean Brunei outlets to further support the cause.”

The donation boxes will be available from June 11 to 25.
