Briefings on order, amendments continue

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE), Ministry of Health (MoH) and Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) continued conducting briefings on the Old Age Pension and People with Different Abilities Act (Amendment) Order 2021 and People with Different Abilities Order, 2021 which comes into effect on October 1.

Consented by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam during a titah in conjunction with His Majesty’s 75th birthday celebration, the briefings aim to provide village heads with understanding on the amendments to the Old Age Pension and People with Different Abilities Act (Amendment) Order 2021 and People with Different Abilities Order 2021 in emphasising and prioritising the welfare and wellbeing of the elderly and people with different abilities in the country.

In Belait District, the briefing was conducted at the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) at the Belait District Office yesterday. It was chaired by Permanent Secretary (Community and Culture) at the MCYS Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari.

Legislative Council members Yang Berhormat Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Mumin and Yang Berhormat Hanapi bin Mohd Siput, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Community) at the MCYS Saidah binti Haji Wahid as well as agency representatives, penghulus and village heads based in Belait District were also present.

Meanwhile, a similar briefing was held in Tutong District at the Santap Hall of the Tutong District Officer’s residence yesterday.
