Briefings boost nationalism among students

Ninety-five students of Institute of Technical Brunei Education (IBTE) Jefri Bolkiah Campus, Kuala Belait attended the nationalism briefing at the college recently.

Organised by the Information Department through its Nationhood Unit of Strategic Communication Division, the briefing titled ‘Roles and Responsibilities as Citizens of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’ was delivered by Assistant Information Officer Hajah Noorhijrah binti Haji Idris.

The students were briefed on the role and responsibilities of the people to the country and the government; society as well as families in equally contributing to the well-being of the country.

The briefing aimed at strengthening love towards the monarch, religion, race and country as well as strengthening the spirit of patriotism and nationalism among the students.

The programme is also intended to support Brunei Vision 2035 and initiatives in the National Youth Policy and Strategy 2020-2035.

Meanwhile, a similar briefing was also held last Saturday attended by 109 students of IBTE Agro-Technology Campus in Kampong Wasan, delivered by Assistant Information Officer, Hajah Noorhijrah binti Haji Idris.

The briefing discussed inculcating love towards the monarch, people and the nation while at the same time injected the patriotism spirit among students through the briefing.

The programme will be conducted at other IBTE’s campus.
