‘Bridging Programme’ to help students join UTB

KOLEJ International Graduate Studies (KIGS) and Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) at the Business Marketing and Communication Centre (BMCC) of KIGS, Kiulap to provide prospective students with Undergraduate Degree Entry Pathway ‘UTB-SP Bridging Programme’ yesterday.

The signing ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by a remark from Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KIGS Dr Haji Azaharaini bin Haji Mohd Jamil.

Dr Azaharaini signed on behalf of the college while UTB was represented by Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Dr Hajah Noor Maya binti Haji Mohd Salleh. Acting KIGS Chairman Board of Directors Pengiran Haji Mohd Yamin bin Pengiran Setia Jaya Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin witnessed the signing.

The members of the KIGS Board of Directors, principal officers, staff and students of UTB and KIGS were also present.

The agreement entitled the UTB-Satellite Partners (SP) Bridging Programme is the Bridging for Business (Bri BUS) offered by UTB and KIGS.

Under this agreement, KIGS will offer a 14-week Undergraduate Degree Entry Pathway to students who fall short of ‘A’ Level or IB points to meet the university’s minimum entry requirement.

The programme is designed to equip students with basic knowledge, skills and exposure of studying the programme.  Upon successful completion of the programme, the students will join UTB to undergo their undergraduate degree programme.
