Breathing life to sandcastles

Creativity and laughter filled the air during the annual Sand Sculpting Spectacular Contest near the Panaga Club last Saturday, as 24 teams built an impressive array of sand structures.

Hosted by the Brunei Brits Club, the contest was open to its members and anyone interested in making artwork out of sand.

The top three entries were a kraken sculpture by Team Three Musketeers, a mound and moat sculpture by Teams Ravensburg and an intricately detailed medieval structure by
Team Nelson.

All three received vouchers as prizes. Chairperson of Brunei Brits Club Marie McCready told the Bulletin that the event was held to attract families and friends to enjoy the sun and sand on a weekend.

“It’s all about having fun, enjoying the beach in perfect weather, mingling with people and spending time together,” she said.
