I WOULD like to express my gratitude to medical doctors and nurses of Suri Seri Begawan Hospital in the Belait District for the excellent job during my recent cataract operation.
Similar appreciation also goes to the Ministry of Health and the government for providing free medical healthcare to the people.
My eye operation could easily cost over BND3,000 if carried out overseas.
May Allah the Al-Mighty bless and reward them.
I urge the government to increase the number of nurses at the hospital to reduce the burden of their colleagues who apply for sick leave or maternity leave.
Pharmacy staff needs to be increased as well.
This also goes for the Sungai Liang Health Centre.
There is also a need to expand the parking space at Suri Seri Begawan Hospital judging by the increasing number of visitors, especially on Saturdays.
