A DRIVER of a book store yesterday pleaded guilty to committing criminal breach of trust and will be sentenced on Monday.
Filipino Jeffrey Munoz San Miguel, 33, admitted to DPP Yvonne Lim’s statement of facts which was read before Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Haji Abdul Rahman.
His job was to deliver items and collect proceeds of sales from the branches of Mubarak Book Emporium. He pocketed a total of B$4,181.10 from the proceeds of sales of Tutong branch on January 4, 2018 and did not hand it over to the headquarters in Serusop.
The defendant felt guilty and confessed to the crime before his manager on January 7, 2018, which led to the filing of a police report by the manager and the defendant assisting the police in investigations.
The defendant has made full restitution of the amount misappropriated.
