(ANN/KOREA HERALD) – K-pop icon BoA is set to make a comeback with a brand new single.

According to her agency, SM Entertainment, BoA’s latest track titled “Emptiness” is scheduled for release on March 26. This marks her return after a gap of 16 months since her last comeback in November 2022 with her third mini-album, “Forgive Me.”

In “Emptiness,” BoA not only lends her vocals but also took part in writing the lyrics, composing, and arranging the Afrobeat-infused pop track, as confirmed by the agency.

The teaser image for the upcoming song, unveiled on BoA’s official social media platform at midnight on Tuesday, portrays BoA alongside a male counterpart, both leaning on each other but gazing in different directions.

Notable examples include “Only One” from her seventh full-length album and “Kiss My Lips,” featuring her debut self-written title track. Similarly, “Forgive Me” served as the title track for her third mini-album.

Debuting in 2000 at the tender age of 13, BoA has risen to become one of the most prominent figures in K-pop, earning the moniker “The Star of Asia.” Celebrating her 25th year in the industry, BoA has diversified her portfolio beyond singing, venturing into acting and production roles.
