THROUGH the e-Payment Gateway – a government revenue collection platform – a total of 3.5 million transactions were carried out up to February 2019, valued at BND2.03 billion.
This was shared by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah during the afternoon session of the 15th Legislative Council meeting yesterday.
Responding to a question from Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari, the minister spoke on two systems – the e-Payment Gateway and e-Invoice.
“The e-Payment Gateway is a government revenue collection platform where bill payments to government agencies are channelled electronically and automatically without the need for manual data entry into the TAFIS system,” he said.
“Based on an analysis of the use of the e-Payment Gateway system up to February 2019, a total of 3.5 million transactions with a value of BND2.03 billion for the four relevant agencies were channelled and streamlined.
“Meanwhile, e-Invoice is a platform for enabling suppliers to make self-claim online invoices and track and monitor the status of their own invoices without having to go to ministry or department counters until the payment is made.”
He added that statistics from e-Invoice up to February 28, 2019 show the performance of ministries and departments reached 80 per cent and above for the successful completion of payment within 30 days of receipt of invoice.
