BMW Golf Cup returns with resounding success

QAF Auto Sdn Bhd was proud to host the highly anticipated BMW Golf Cup in Brunei Darussalam on September 17-18, 2022 at the Royal Brunei Golf and Country Club after a brief hiatus due to the pandemic.

Reserved exclusively for BMW owners, more than 130 customers participated in one of the most prestigious amateur golf tournaments in the country.

“On behalf of QAF Auto, I would like to congratulate all the winners and thank our customers for joining us this year at the BMW Golf Cup,” said General Manager of QAF Auto Alisa Khoo.

“It was heartwarming to see so many people enjoying themselves on the green once again and partaking in some healthy competition.

“The BMW Golf Cup is all about building a sense of camaraderie among BMW owners, meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones,” said the general manager.

“We are grateful that we were able to provide our customers with another weekend to remember with the BMW brand and look forward to hosting more events in the coming year,” she added.

Ushers for BMW Golf Cup Brunei 2021

The format of the competition was Strokeplay over 18 holes.

The BMW Golf Cup Brunei provided an opportunity for golfers to test their skills among their peers through the spirit of competition and camaraderie while enjoying premium hospitality.

A prize giving ceremony was held at Royal Berkshire Hall of the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club after the end of the tournament.

There were many attractive prizes to be grabbed, including two Hole-In-One prizes, which were the BMW 520i M Sport for Hole 16 sponsored by National Insurance and Omega Seamaster Chronoscope Co-Axia Master Chrosonoscope 43mm Timepiece valued at BND12,500 for Hole 3 sponsored by Chang Ein Hong Watch Dealer.

Novelty prizes for Hole 14 Nearest to Line were Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Solar and Garmin Fenix 7S Pro Solar, each valued at BND1,369 sponsored by Baiduri Bank.

Nearest to Pin prize for Hole 8 is a Montblanc Pix Rollerball Pen valued at BND400 sponsored by Chang Ein Hong.

Meanwhile, the Longest Drive for Hole 17 prize was a Scent Air Home Scenting Machine with Fragrance Cartridge valued at BND880 sponsored by ScentArt.

There were also lucky draw prizes, which included an Omega Seamaster valued at BND9,800 sponsored by Baiduri Bank, Golf Nation Callaway golf set valued at BND4,000 by Baiduri Bank, Golf Nation Cobra golf set worth BND3,000 by Baiduri Bank, Royce Chocolate hampers sponsored by Royce and many others.

A total of four categories were featured in the BMW Golf Cup.

For Men Category A, in first place was Lai Suan Loong after attaining a score of 76 nett, while second place went to Bryan Chiew Chun Hao with a score of 77 and in third place was Julian Kamaluddin who scored 83.

In Men Category B, first place was won by Alias Ramlee who registered a score of 71, while in second place was Haji Raya Dollah, who pipped third-placed Ali Rahman with a score of 75 (On Count Back).

Women Category C saw Hajah Rusni binti Haji Lamat in first place with a score of 81, followed by Agnes De La Cruz in second with a score of 83 (OCB) and Enid Wong in third.

In Men Category D, Jeffrey Chia won first place after recording a score of 70, with Dullah Sitai in second place with a score of 71 (OCB) while Benny Boy Abdul Rahman finished in third.
