BMW Asia and QAF Auto, the sole importer and distributor of BMW vehicles in Brunei, launched the new BMW 4 Series Coupé in a ceremony at QAF Auto Showroom in Beribi yesterday.
QAF Auto General Manager Alisa Khoo, BMW team and guests were present.
BMW Group Asia Managing Director Christopher Wehner said he has a close relationship with the new model.
“I was personally involved with the team that developed the new BMW 4 Series and I can confidently say this is the most expressive and edgy model in our line-up,” he said.
The event proceeded with a key handover to Jeremy Chua Yun, the first owner of the new BMW 4 Series.
The most obvious and glaring design change to the new 4 Series is its front grille. It is bigger and takes up the entire front facia of the car and extending from the top of the front bumper to the bottom which BMW says provides “adequate cooling for the more powerful engines”.
The rear-wheel drive 420i is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering 181bhp and 300Nm of torque. In Brunei, the eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission is fitted as standard for all model variants and offers sharper shift dynamics.
Gearshift paddles on the steering wheel are also a standard feature.
The M Sport model comes with features such as extra-large air intakes at the front and a prominently contoured rear apron, M Sport suspension, M light-alloy wheels, and other specially designed interior elements. Exterior elements can also be specified in carbon fibre.
The new BMW 4 Series Coupé is available for viewing at the QAF Auto showroom.
