The Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan (RCBSB) is organising its second blood donation camp for the rotary year 2021-22.
The campaign at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre runs until September 30, and is by appointment only.
“With the COVID-19 outbreak in the Sultanate, we understand that hospitals are running low on blood reserves. As the event adheres to the Ministry of Health (MoH) policies, it is safe for donors. Also, having it appointment-based only will help ensure social distancing is maintained,” club president Muthukrishnan Balasundaram said.
He thanked regular donors, friends and families for joining the camp and bleeding for the noble cause. Donors are urged to make a booking through the BloodKad app.
The Rotary Club said that the drive comes as part of its efforts to support the Brunei community and promote the values of social responsibility among citizens.
The campaign is led by Organising Chair (OC) Yapp Giem Eing and his committee, with support from the RIPAS Hospital Blood Donation Centre.
“Potential blood donors can step forward after one week of the COVID-19 vaccination and if they don’t experience any side effect, but it is always advisable to refer to the RIPAS Hospital Blood Donation Centre’s advisory,” Yapp said.
