Blasting through science

ST GEORGE’S School (SGS) participated in the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) Science Show competition finals at The Core, Universiti Brunei Darussalam on August 12. The competition was a national scale competition where secondary and higher education institution students compete to present the most captivating and fascinating science show demonstrating different science experiments with the aim to increase public interest in science subjects.

The competition encourages participants to be creative, knowledgeable and at the same time, challenge their performing skills to engage with the audience and the judges. Only 11 finalists were able to compete in the final round of the competition.

Out of the two teams from SGS which participated, only one team managed to blast their way to the finals. With their exciting and enthusiastic show, Jennifer Jane Ambrose and Kelly Conrad Mosidin secured the first runner up position for upper secondary division, bringing home silver medals and the total cash prize of BND400. Kelly Conrad Mosidin bagged the title of the Best Performer award acquiring an extra BND100 cash prize for her win.
