EVERY year, days after His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s birthday, meet and greet sessions with members of the royal family are conducted.
These sessions are commonly called Majlis Ramah Mesra dan Junjung Ziarah Bersama Rakyat.
His Majesty and members of the royal family attended the Majlis Ramah Mesra at the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan on July 29.
The event began with the singing of the national anthem. Students, in colourful clothes from several schools presented cultural performances.
Members of the royal family began the meet and greet sessions starting with locals and foreigners followed by students from different schools in the Brunei-Muara District.
Despite the hot weather that hit the capital during event, Bruneians, especially students, had a wonderful experience meeting His Majesty and members of the royal family.
Taking selfies, shaking hands and greeting members of the royal family were unforgettable moments for everyone.
