Seventy Qaris and 52 Qariahs are presenting their Al-Quran reading during the preliminary rounds of the National Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran for Youth organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports

(MCYS) at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, Berakas starting yesterday to April 3.

Seventeen Qaris and Qariahs presented their readings in the morning session followed by 13 readers for the afternoon session yesterday.

Only five Qaris and five Qariahs will proceed to the finals slated in June out of 30 readers who will be selected during the semi-finals.

The event acts as a platform for Qari and Qariah youth to showcase their capabilities, especially in the field of Al-Quran recitation in Tarannum method.

This year’s participants were among the highest numbers ever recorded.

The public can view the preliminary sessions via ‘Live’ social media broadcast at @jbs.bn.
