The JobCentre Brunei (JCB) roadshow received an overwhelming 1,200 visitors during its three-day run at The Mall, Gadong, particularly jobseekers eager to fill up the 2,000 available vacancies.

From November 6 to 8, visitors were able to acquire information about registration to the JCB portal, as well as the i-Ready Apprenticeship Programme and job-matching services.

Special Duties Officer I of JCB Siti Sarah binti Haji Yusop told the Bulletin, “We learned that there were several jobseekers who failed to complete their registration or profile, which was making it difficult for us to carry out job-matching. It is important for jobseekers to provide complete information upon registration.”

She urged local jobseekers to register through the JCB portal, to gain access to its online services and the available 2,000 job vacancies.

During the roadshow, the Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC) Secretariat announced its initiatives and programmes, key information and updates on the latest available and in-demand jobs for the next five years.

“Their showcase included information on the Skills Plus Programme and the available Continuing Education Programme (CET) under the MPEC,” said Siti Sarah.

At the same event, the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics under the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) displayed information for the upcoming 2021 population census.

JCB actively works together with private companies to meet their manpower needs, primarily the facilitation of local recruitment through initiatives such as the JCB online platform, the i-Ready Apprenticeship Programme, walk-in interviews, job-matching services and the JCB Recruitment Day. Since the start of this year, over 3,000 locals have found employment through JCB.
