BIBD shares Asian Desk role in easing doing business in Brunei

BANK Islam Brunei Darussalam’s (BIBD) Corporate Banking Group recently organised a business networking hi-tea for 20 of its corporate customers and introduced them to the bank’s wide range of highly advanced and innovative solutions for businesses.

The highlight of the event was an introduction of the BIBD Asian Desk, launched on August 10, 2018, to address the banking needs of its corporate clients including facilitating foreign direct investment (FDI) companies and its employees.

The BIBD Asian Desk is a one-stop desk managed by a team of highly experienced, multi-lingual and dedicated relationship managers.

This desk also provides inter-connectivity by providing direct access to BIBD’s multiplatform services across its retail and institutional businesses while leveraging on Brunei’s largest network of banking branches, ATMs and contact centre.

Head of Corporate Banking Group Koh Swam Sing said, “Asian Desk is our long-term commitment to support and promote the influx of FDIs to Brunei and provide small and medium enterprises (SMEs) an avenue to engage with FDIs to explore potential business opportunities and venture.

“By bringing business partners together to the event, it is hoped that potential win-win opportunities may develop to benefit businesses and the country,” he added.

BIBD representatives at the event also shared about the vast capabilities of its digital banking solutions including the BIBD Biznet, a powerful mobile platform that provides the bank’s corporate customers mobile access to the BIBD Biznet web-based online platform.

BIBD BizNet is an upgrade to its previous digital Corporate Internet Banking platform that provides day-to-day accounts and payments operations support with real-time account access along with a collection of other enhanced features.

These include single security token access for Parent and Subsidiary accounts, payment approval, fund transfers, bill payments along with information such as foreign currency rates and Branch/ATM locator and other services.

In line with national aspirations, BIBD NEXGEN, which powers the bank’s solutions such as BIBD Biznet and Quickpay, will digitally connect everyone, forge alliances and create conveniences such as improving the ease of doing business, creating a more progressive and pro-business economy.
