BIBD Asset Management signs exclusive partnership with global investment firm

BIBD Asset Management (BIBD AM) under licence of BIBD Securities Sdn Bhd (BIBDS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lombard Odier Investment Managers (LOIM), the asset management business of Geneva based Lombard Odier Group.

The MoU will see BIBD AM and LOIM introducing the World Brands Global Islamic Equities strategy (World Brands Islamic), a Syariah-compliant, high conviction global equity strategy investing in premium and valuable companies in consumer- related sectors.

This partnership represents the tying of expertise between the two firms where BIBD AM brings in its wealth of in-house experience in Syariah investments whilst leveraging LOIM’s well-established capabilities in thematic investing and sustainability.

World Brands Islamic will be managed by Senior Portfolio Manager Juan Mendoza, who has managed the conventional version of the strategy since 2009 and will continue to adopt the same investment objective, policy and approach that has led to the portfolio’s outstanding track record.

Juan is supported by LOIM’s multi-faceted global research platform comprising of seasoned industry and regional specialists.
