BenchLab, Brunei’s largest skill-sharing platform, has launched its first series of online courses this month in efforts to make learning more accessible and affordable to the people.
According to BenchLab Corporate Marketing Officer Muhammad Hanif bin Haji Md Yunos, the COVID-19 outbreak has posed several challenges for the company in terms of their workshops.
Having hosted over 3,000 hours of offline courses since May 2018, BenchLab has now embraced an online learning platform on which learners can access lessons created by Brunei-based freelance instructors at their own time, interact with the teachers and earn e-certificates upon completion of the courses.
‘Academic Writing 101’ is among the courses on offer at BenchLab this month, taught by Dr Petra. The course is designed for those interested in developing writing and research skills, both of which are useful for students and professionals alike.
Other courses available include: ‘Financial Planning for Parents’ by certified financial advisor Esjay Loh; ‘Impress Your Interviewer’ by Fata Abdullah, founder of fashion company Qafa Haus; ‘Health and Nutrition 101’ by health and nutrition consultant Lim Fun; and ‘Adobe After Effects: Text Animation’ by multimedia creator Momo.
Each course is beginner-friendly and offers flexible access for seven consecutive days, during which enrolled learners can learn and engage with their instructor in their own time.
