Muslims across the Belait District yesterday gathered to mark Hari Raya Aidiladha for 1445 Hijrah, and among them was the family of Haji Ismail bin Haji Mohd Salleh in Kampong Lumut.
As the head of the household, Haji Ismail said he has been leading the korban ceremony for 22 years.
This year, his family sacrificed two buffaloes, and the sacrificial meat distributed to extended family members.
Meanwhile, a religious event was held at Brunei Shell Recreation Club, led by Serikandi Group of Companies, who are also celebrating their 50th anniversary. Among the attendees was Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad.
The ceremony saw two cows being sacrificed, and the sacrificial meat handed to 500 staff members and guests at the event. – Daniel Lim
