Belait man suspected of attempted theft

A LOCAL man was brought to the Magistrate’s Court, Bandar Seri Begawan on February 13 as he was suspected to have been involved in an attempted theft at the apartment building located in Jalan Sungai, Pandan 7, Kuala Belait.

The suspect, Mohammad Ali Noor bin Haji Jailani, 48, was detained by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) following a public tip after he was spotted roaming around the apartment building.

When the police officers arrived at the scene, the suspect was discovered to have been in possession of a spool of cable as well as various hardware tools; which led to the suspect being detained along with the evidence collected at the Kuala Belait Police Station for further investigation.

The court has decided to release the suspect on court bail till further mention of the case on February 26.
