Belait goes green

Following the success of the No Plastic Bag Everyday Initiative and Plastic Free Campaign on July 22, the Ministry of Development (MoD) through the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) continued the campaign at Belait District on Saturday night.

The event held in collaboration with Big BWN Project and Zero Waste Brunei and supported by Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board, Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and Butra HeidelbergCement Sdn Bhd saw the distribution of reusable bags at the nightly stalls at Tudung Saji in Kuala Belait.

Acting Director of JASTRe Martinah binti Haji Tamit handed over the initiative’s poster to Acting Chairman of the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board Haji Azmi bin Haji Abdul Rahim.

Over 200 reusable bags were distributed to visitors of the night market.

The No Plastic Bag Everyday Initiative and Plastic Free Campaign will continue in Temburong District in August.
