Beach cleanup marks Mother’s Day

THE International’s Women Club of Brunei Darussalam recently held a Mother’s Day event with a beach cleanup at the Berakas Camp Saddle Club Beach. The event was attended by the members and their families including the club’s honorary members from the various embassies and high commissions in Brunei Darussalam and the Permai Green Club from the Indonesian Community Association.

Datin Hajah Rasidah binti Haji Brahim, the spouse of Major General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces was the guest of honour.

Club’s President Ungku Datin Hajah Fanzah binti Haji Osman highlighted the importance of a clean environment and thanked members and their families for attending. The president also thanked the Berakas Camp Saddle Club for helping to organise the event and Aewon Brunei for sponsoring the caps.

The club president invited the guest of honour and all mothers present to cut the Mother’s Day cake. The president also presented a token of appreciation to the guest of honour.

The beach cleanup was organised by the club to create awareness among the members and families on the importance of a clean environment with the theme ‘Celebrate Mother’s Day with Mother Earth’. The event was further enlivened with a treasure hunt game for the children and a competition for the best collector. The event ended with breakfast of local and foreign delicacies.
