Participating Brunei Futsal League (BFL) 2021 teams have been called to be both mentally and physically prepared besides having their own tactical planning in order to compete with excellence.

Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) Executive Committee Member in his capacity as the Futsal and Beach Soccer Competition Co-Chairman Abdul Adib bin Haji Abdul Khani made the call ahead of the opening match of the Brunei Futsal League 2021 at the multipurpose hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex today.

He added, “I fully believe that the BFL this year is a crucial starting point after a long hiatus. I am fully confident that the close cooperation between FABD Futsal Standing Committee and the BFL 2021 teams will definitely contribute to the success that we desire.”

The FABD Futsal Standing Committee has called on players and management to comply with the guidelines set by FABD which is in line with the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health.

Both players and management are reminded to scan the BruHealth QR code and get their temperature checked before entering the match venue as well as not attending the match if they are unwell.

Abdul Adib said, “I also believe that coaches and players have their own programmes and they have conducted adequate training in the permitted places in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOP) as presented during the BFL 2021 Team Managers’ Meeting.”

The co-chairman also believes that the BFL 2021 serves as the best platform for teams, coaches and players to represent the national team.

He concluded, “So far, our country lacks local coaches with AFC certificates. Insya Allah, the programmes that have been arranged by the Technical Development Department of FABD will be able to help these futsal teams produce local coaches who are of calibre, have a huge heart and have creativity in organising tactics in the team they manage.”

The opening match of the much-anticipated Brunei Futsal League 2021 will see Qahar FT taking on Shah United.
