The Brunei Darussalam Tug-of-War Association (BDTA) hosted an exhibition match between Brunei Darussalam Inter-Club Team with the Pakistan Navy Team at the Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex yesterday.
The friendly match reaffirmed the close ties between the Sultanate and Pakistan through sport specifically tug-of-war.
Pakistan’s Deputy Head of Mission to Brunei Darussalam Ghulam Haider was the guest of honour at the event. BDTA Vice President Dr Andy Lau Sie Chuong was also present.
The Brunei team comprised participants from several clubs including Chainblock Team, HSN Fit, DX Team, SPSS, Tuggers, MG5 and Mengkubau United.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Navy Team was represented by Shamsheer and Nasr teams.
The event concluded with a prize and certificate presentation from Haider to all participants, as well as the exchange of souvenirs between the BDTA and Pakistan Navy officers.
