Over 50 Maybank Brunei branch employees joined a volunteering activity at EcoPonies Garden in Kampong Lamunin, Tutong District recently.
The event began with Maybank Brunei General Manager Sulaiman bin Isa highlighting the importance of strengthening the bank’s commitment to the community through its flagship volunteerism programme Cahaya Kasih.
Maybank Brunei employees worked hand-in-hand to refurbish and build facilities at the garden for the community and visitors to enjoy.
Mukim Lamunin Penghulu Jaafar bin Haji Tinggal, Kampong Lamunin Village Head Husaini bin Othman, Kampong Menengah, Bukit Sulang and Panchong Acting Village Head Mohd Fitri Zulhilmi bin Haji Muhid Shah Asnawi, Kampong Merimbun Village Head Sanny bin Nangkat and EcoPonies Garden Manager Eyon Ukoi were present.
The activity was part of Maybank’s worldwide event to mark 11th Maybank Group Global CR Day. Some 20,000 Maybank employees engage with 11,000 community members in activities impacting lives and the environment through sustainable initiatives.
Themed ‘Adapt, Change, Thrive’, the event is part of the group’s Cahaya Kasih aimed at improving the lives of two million households across ASEAN by 2025 and achieving one million hours per annum on sustainability and delivering 1,000 significant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals-related outcomes by 2025.
