Bangladeshi community in the Sultanate hosted a reception to celebrate His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 76th birthday at the Royal Berkshire Hall of the Royal Brunei Polo and Country Club on Friday.
High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam Nahida Rahman Shumona attended the event and was welcome by event organiser Shahjalal Masud.
The ceremony began with prayers for His Majesty followed by remarks from the high commissioner who spoke on the long-standing bilateral relations between the two countries as well as His Majesty’s benevolence towards the Bangladeshi community.
Officials of the Turkish Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, the Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam and Iranian Embassy in Brunei Darussalam also attended the event.
