Months after the temporary closure of business stalls for the weekly Bandarku Ceria in the capital, stall operators heaved a sigh of relief as businesses resumed to normal beginning yesterday.
The stalls have been relocated to the parking space opposite the Royal Regalia museum in
Jalan Bendahara.
Assistant Municipal Officer Grade II at the Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Municipal Department Ahmad Saufi bin Haji Md Yussof led the re-opening of the stalls, joined by BSB Municipal Department Economic Division staff.
BSB Municipal Department Chairman Aminuddin bin Haji Buntar, Deputy Chairman Haji Mohammad Ideni bin Haji Ahmad and Deputy Chairman Norhisham bin Haji Saini along with senior municipal officers participated in overseeing the activities.
Two locations were initially suggested, including Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SOAS), as the usual spots at Jalan Pretty and Jalan Roberts were deemed inappropriate to carry out the BruHealth QR code as advised by the Ministry of Health. However, the Taman SOAS area will not be able to accommodate a large crowd and not many will participate.
The parking space was agreed based on safety and cleanliness. The space can accommodate a set up in several blocks, offering sufficient parking space for visitors. Meanwhile, stall lots for each operator will change every week.
