BAKRI bin Hamzah emerged champion at the Kuala Belait Dart Open Competition 2019 at the multi-purpose hall of the Mumong Sports Complex recently.
Organised by the C’dapat Dartes (CDD) Club in collaboration with the Youth and Sports Department of the Belait District branch, the tournament was held by the Belait District Dart Club to gather like-minded players with a love for the sport of darts.
In a best of three, Bakri won against Rajis bin Judin in the tournament finals to emerge first overall. Rajis finished in second place.
Md Hardi bin Judin came third after winning against Sufri bin Hamzah in their match to decide third and fourth places, which took place concurrently with the finals. Sufri finished in fourth place.
A total of 16 players competed in the tournament, which started with a round robin format before moving to the tournament bracket.
Chairman of the Brunei National Darts Association Serabah bin Haji Abas was the guest of honour during the tournament bracket.
The guest of honour handed trophies and prizes to the top four winners at the end of the event.
The Belait District Dart Club hoped to continue holding similar tournaments in the future to help encourage and inspire more participation in the sport, not only in the district but also across the country.
