THE 24th edition of the Baiduri Masters is set to be held at Pantai Mentiri Golf Club for the first time since 2005.
“We are excited about holding the tournament at Pantai Mentiri Golf Club. Every golf course has its own character and style. Pantai Mentiri is one of the oldest courses and still retains the appeal for being the longest,” President of the Baiduri Masters 2019 Andrew Young said.
As one of the most popular courses in the country, Young said, “Though familiar to most golfers, it is a challenging course and playing under par is by no means an easy feat.”
Since the start of the tournament in 1996, the Baiduri Masters has been held at multiple venues over the years, with the RBA Golf Club hosting the tournament the most, a press statement said. Other tournament venues in the past included Panaga Golf Club in Seria in 2010.
“Returning to Pantai Mentiri is like coming home to where it all started. It is a bit nostalgic. We thank the Pantai committee for their support and we would be happy to see the continuing strong support from the golfing community this year,” he added.
Registration for the Baiduri Masters 2019 commences today. The registration fees are BND120 for adults and BND60 for juniors, which are inclusive of green fee, buggy, goodie bag as well as buffet for breakfast and lunch. All players are invited to the prize presentation dinner at the end of the tournament on April 21 at the Hua Ho Manggis Ballroom.
This year’s Baiduri Masters offers three cars (Porsche Macan, BMW 520i and Mini Cabriolet) and one motorbike (BMW R Nine T), as hole-in- one prizes.
“We encourage strong support for the teams and ladies events and we are serious about the junior golf.”
