Azaman Shah, Nur Azmil get nod from villagers

The candidate for penghulu of Mukim Tanjong Maya Azaman Shah bin Haji Sahari received 312 votes in favour, 12 against while four votes were declared spoilt during the election for Mukim Tanjong Maya Penghulu and village head for Kampong Tanjong Maya and Lubok Pulau at the Tanjong Maya Community Hall yesterday.

Some 328 residents of Mukim Tanjong Maya cast their votes.

Azaman Shah, 47, is an education officer at the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus.

Meanwhile, the candidate for village head of Kampong Tanjong Maya and Lubok Pulau Nur Azmil bin Haji Ismail received 177 votes in favour, 51 against while nine votes were categorised as spoilt. Some 237 Kampong Tanjong Maya and Lubok Pulau residents cast their votes.

A senior officer from the Ministry of Home Affairs and acting village heads under Mukim Tanjong Maya were present.
