Awards aplenty for bright sparks

Fifteen orphans were acknowledged for their hard work by the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) Excellent Student Incentive Award (AIPC-DANA) 2022. The students, who acquired excellent results in public examinations last year received awards at a ceremony at An-Naura Hall of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital yesterday.

Six students received the AIPC-DANA 2022 for Brunei Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level – Hadzietul Norashikin anak Pin; Ahmad Hamizan @ Ahmad Aliridha bin Haji Laidin; Nur Syahirah Najihah binti Mahmood; Mohammad Afkar Syarmayuda Saiful Akma bin Haji Mohammad; Nur Azeela Natasya binti Haji Hamidon; and Irdina binti Muhammad Hasbul Wafi Fakri.

They each received a certificate, a computer and printer unit and a two-year learning pack in the form of BND760.

Meanwhile, five students received AIPC-DANA 2022 for Primary School Assessment (PSR) – Mohamad Syukri bin Abdullah; Siti Nurunnajihah binti Haji Yahmiruddin Shah; Raqiqah Nur Fasihah binti Ramli; Noor Fashanda Batrisya binti Abduzilialali Wal Ikram and Siti Nurmu’tazzah binti Abdullah Muhammad Nur Azro Azharuddin.

They each were given a certificate, one computer and printer unit and a two-year learning pack in the form of BND400 cash.

Another four received their AIPC-DANA 2022 for Religious Primary School Education Certificate (SSSRU) Primary Six comprising Nur Hani Basyirah binti Tuah, Siti Nor Akmal Farhanis binit Haji Muhmmad Edzhar, Awangku Farid Haziq bin Pengiran Haji Salim and Zulaikha Zakirah binti Mustapa.

Each received a certificate, a computer and printer unit, and savings worth BND500 in their DANA accounts at Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB).

The AIPC-DANA 2022 awards were presented by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar in his capacity as the Deputy Chairman of the DANA Board of Trustees.

The AIPC-DANA award aims to encourage students especially orphans to understand the importance of education for a better future. The project is an annual event for DANA since its introduction 15 years ago.
